Jungle fever® is a style of dance developed by dancer, dance teacher and choreographer Recheal Kambugu, who is raised in Uganda and in Sweden. As an explanation to the name Jungle fever®, Recheal states the following:"The desire to dance is like a fever, and in the jungle you can truly be yourself. There no one is holding you back! In Jungle fever® we dance together, while at the same time each and every one of us is encouraged to express themselves as much as possible, in many different ways. Just be you and go for it!"Jungle fever® is developed from the influences of East African dance, Ragga, Street, Jazz and Dancehall. Mostly we dance to club music from all around the world, but sometimes we mix it up with something totally different. Very often the music we use comes from the modern Africa. It can be traditional sounds, or something newer – with elements of House, Hip-Hop, RnB, Dancehall and Reggaeton. In Jungle fever® the center is placed low and we swing around our own core, with rolling hips and cool arms. Jungle fever® is a playful and unprestigious dance style in which the beautiful is allowed to be ugly and vice versa! The foundation is laid with simple strengthening exercises for the abs, back and arms, followed by technique exercises focusing on the mobility of the lower back, pelvis and back. And then we dance – all the more strong, soft, brave and happy! For more information, visit our website junglefever.se
