"Kaltarang", the annual cultural festival of "Rajiv Gandhi institute of petroleum technology (RGIPT)", Jais, Rae bareli is a 3 day long themed fest, held in Springs. Since it's embarkment in 2011 by the group of motivated individuals with a vision to deliver more and about what they are capable of. It sees a participation of 4000+ people from over 100 different colleges across the nation making it the the most exuberant and biggest fest in the whole Lucknow region.Competitions at Kaltarang have been the stage for college contingents from across the country. Competitions cover all the genres of art - Dramatics, Lifestyle, Literary arts, Speaking arts Fine arts, Visual arts, Film & Media, Music, Dance and journalism. Kaltarang has witnessed whooping and miraculous performances by the artists like Aditya Narayan, Gajendra Verma, Miss Tara, The Lost Stories and The Local Train. With a vision to serve as a platform for youngsters to showcase and nurture their talent, various competitions are organized with assured prizes and incentives to the winnes. Also it has become a hub foe outsourcing talent and alluring media and sponsors nationwide. Kaltarang also affirms for a noble cause every year through the social club of RGIPT i.e. ARPAN and also includes few performances by underprivileged children from nearby villages and schools.
