KSI provides a regular learning opportunity for practitioners involved in sustainability to enhance their knowledge. We believe that each individual to change his/her behavior is essential to make a significant change, and we have collected content that is useful for people who are actually working in the field. Our society is facing various challenges such as demographic change, climate change, resource depletion, widening disparities, terrorism, crisis of conflict, child labor, and a series of corporate scandals. Companies must deal with these issues while striving to innovate and change their business models every day. We are now in an era where Responsible Business is necessary. In addition, not only in Japan but also worldwide, there is a growing interest in investing in companies that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs and to the sustainability of society. ESG investment, which emphasizes and selects companies that take into consideration the environment, social issues, and corporate governance, is already becoming more and more active. It is expected that companies that lead the way in sustainability will have more opportunities to become investment targets in the future. Investors are now expected to adopt the concept of "Responsible Investment" in relation to responsible businesses. This is one example of how the concept of sustainability in business will become a required knowledge and skill for people working in all industries and sectors. On the other hand, as the balance of ESG investments increases, the financial services industry (investment management institutions, banks, etc.) will also need people who can evaluate the sustainability of companies. KSI will provide an environment where students can learn about sustainability, from the basics to specialized fields, in order to meet these needs of society.
