Khilgaon Government High School is a public school. This educational institution was established in 1967. Besides the school, there are also college branches. It is currently known as one of the most renowned educational institutions in Bangladesh.The school consists of several buildings. The playground is located in front of it. There also are several playgrounds divided into small sections in side the school. The main school building is two-storeyed and the college building is five-storeyed. Inside it is the Headmasters residence and it has a huge hostel outside of the main infrastructure. In addition to the two main entry points, there are currently two more different entry points for entering the college. It's totally a boy's high school and college. The school has a library, computer lab and three science labs for the students. There is a two-story auditorium inside the school where cultural competitions are held every year. There are grounds for play and annual sports competitions are held every year. Moreover, the science fair is held here every year. Pure water supply is also available for the students.In this educational institution, education is given from 8th grade to 12th grade. The medium of education is Bengali. There are classes in two shifts, Morning and Day. Moreover, there are also affiliated branches as well. There is also a school adjacent to the government school where the lower secondary level education is provided in only one shift.College branch has been introduced since 2008. There are two branches, Science and Commerce. There is also a short range of education for special children.
