The Labette County Sheriff's Office has been serving the citizens of Labette County for nearly 150 years. The Sheriff is responsible for the county jail, court security and providing primary law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of the county twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement in the cities of Angola, Bartlett, Edna, Labette, Mound Valley, and Valeda. Labette County is mostly rural and consists of approximately 653 square miles with more than 20,000 citizens
