Linguathon is an engine for learner centered language learning platforms (ESL/ELL, for example, as well as platforms for other languages), allowing learners and teachers alike to manage their own customized language learning course centers socially and online, with full knowledge of where they stand on the training/evaluation grid at all times. The objective: provide online persistence and management of objectified language competence.At English Marathon, you can organize your own social language learning center online. As learners or as teachers.We are in active Customer Development stage, seeking groups of learners to work with a tutor, forming the foundation for community building.We are seeking to provide a sound cloud based foundation for best practices in language learning, accessible via an API making it easy to use it in an authentically open social networking and multi-device setting. Linguathon will avoid imposing simplistic, partially or only initially successful methods. Linguathon wants to encourage people to acquire a taste for the best possible scientifically sound training… just like training for a Marathon, made enjoyable with exciting content, made thorough with continuous evaluation based on truly open international standards on all levels of communicative competence, and winding up with that most rewarding of feelings, that of crossing the finishing line.
