Documentary photography is similar to creating a time capsule. A moment in time seen through the photographer's lens and captured for a family to treasure forever. Perhaps it's capturing the quick nuzzle in mom's neck while burping. Perhaps it's the lip that quivers when told its bedtime. The intense stare at the monkey bars right before they will try to get "all-the-way across" this time.
