Documentary photography is similar to creating a time capsule. A moment in time seen through the photographer's lens and captured for a family to treasure forever. Perhaps it's capturing the quick nuzzle in mom's neck while burping. Perhaps it's the lip that quivers when told its bedtime. The intense stare at the monkey bars right before they will try to get "all-the-way across" this time. Believe it or not, one day your kids will spend more time in their beds than with you (teenagers!) or think the park is "boring". These moments are fleeting! I don't know about you but, I'm worried it's all going so fast that my foggy overloaded parent brain might not remember the nuzzles, quivering lips, or intense 7-year old stares.
