Food Production - Brazzano, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy
Livio Felluga, the "Patriarch of Friulian Wines", set up the winery in Brazzano in 1956, sealing his love for the hill country with the far-sighted purchase of the first vineyards at Rosazzo. His leadership is characterized by an absolute and obstinate dedication to the land. He knows every step of his estate. He lives and breathes the land, because over the years, with patience and determination, he was able to interpret it at best. At a time when there were no designations, Livio Felluga chooses a map as label to show, in Italy and in the world, the origin of his wines: these are the Map Label wines. The vineyards on the Hills of Friuli are the proud testimony of it, since 2011 Rosazzo is a DOCG area. The production of the winery is marked by the steady and rigorous pursuit of quality: a choice made by Livio Felluga, who just recently turned 101 years old, and carried on by his children who are now managing the winery with the same commitment and devotion of their father.Quality that can be recognized immediately in all the winery's products: in the elegant varietal wines and in the refined blends like Terre Alte, among the most prestigious Italian white wines, Sossó, with carefully selected Merlot and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes, together with a small percentage of Pignolo, and Abbazia di Rosazzo, produced from the historical vineyard of the Abbey.
