Nonprofit Organization Management - Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
With over 45 years experience in youth volunteering, we have developed and introduced a proven method of engaging young people in meaningful, impactful community service. We work with youths aged 11 – 25 years old, mostly from socioeconomic disadvantaged communities throughout Ireland, with the highest concentration being in Dublin, working with primary schools, post primary schools, community and youth groups. We train youth and adult mentors from the community, business and third level institutes to work in partnership with young people to deliver local community service projects to some of our most disadvantaged and marginalised in society e.g. people with special needs, the sick, the elderly, people experiencing homelessness, and many more. Our unique approach is ‘Service Leadership', an innovative method which empowers young people to utilise their skills and unleash their potential to become active citizens and change makers within their own communities. Many of the youths we work with are seen as ‘in need', we want to demonstrate that they can help others and instil, from an early age, the personal and societal benefits of volunteering. No matter what background, situation or circumstance, they can make a positive difference. In addition we recruit and train mentors from the community, local businesses and third level institutions to work with young people to deliver these grassroot programmes. Youths and mentors working together provide the opportunity to integrate, to develop positive mutually beneficial and influential relationships
