Fund-raising - Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
Luke's Extra Mile is a newly developed Irish Registered Children's Charity , (RCN) 20165161. The Charity's sole mission is to support Irish Children's Charity's increase much needed funds to support Children through difficult journeys. Each year our team supports 3 charities through 3 major fundraising events. In addition to the support that Luke's Extra Mile gives, the Charity shares awareness of the many health conditions in which these Irish Children's Charity's endeavour to help treat. An example of one of the many conditions is congenital CMV infection. Congenital cytomegalovirus is a condition that can occur when an infant is infected with a virus called cytomegalovirus (CMV) before birth. Some babies with signs of congenital CMV infection at birth may have long-term health problems, such as hearing loss, vision loss, an intellectual disability, small head size, lack of coordination, weakness or problems using muscles, and seizures. Presently CMV is not fully understood and it is possible for CMV to cause the death of a baby during pregnancy (pregnancy loss).
