LUPA FILMES is a Brazilian production company based in Rio de Janeiro since 2009 geared towards development, packaging and production of high- quality Brazilian feature films and TV series. In 2013, LUPA released its first feature, the rom-com "MATO SEM CACHORRO" ("The Dognapper"), which sold over 1 million tickets at the local box office. With these results, the production team solidified itself as one of only eight production companies since 1990 to reach the 1 million ticket mark upon their first feature film release.LUPA FILMES started as a finishing house back in 2006 supervisng the post- production process for over 20 features (documentary and fiction), several TV series, as well as hundreds of commercials including the feature-doc, "WASTE LAND" (O2 Filmes/ directed by Lucy Walker & João Jardim), winner of prizes at the 2010 Berlinale and Sundance Film Festival as well as an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary.LUPA's latest feature, O RASTRO ("THE TRACE WE LEAVE BEHIND") co-produced with MGM's ORION PICTURES, released in Brazil in May 2017, breaking the box-office record for a Brazilian genre film and garnering strong reviews from the largest newspapers and blogs around the country. Among its next projects are a dark pyschological thriller entitled "SYNCHRO" and an original female-driven comedy about the local obsession for Brazilian soap operas, "VILÃ DAS NOVE" ("Primetime Villain") co-produced with FOX and WARNER BROS INTL.
