It was the summer of 2003 when Rick Tvedt decided Madison's local artists and musicians deserved to be recognized in a spectacular way. Moreover, he intended this recognition to raise awareness to the budget decreases on creative arts in community schools. Celebrating its tenth year, the Madison Area Music Association seeks to preserve and expand all forms of music education in the local area. Sponsorships help the MAMAs encourage and promote the artistic advancement of our children.Throughout the year, multiple MAMA events are held to increase this awareness and gain sponsors/ volunteers passionate to the cause. By far, its largest event is the MAMA Awards hosted every summer in our state's capital city. At its core, the Madison Area Music Awards show is a networking event, designed to showcase the talent of native artists and musicians of all ages; its driving force completely devoted to charity.After a decade, the MAMAs have proudly given over $47,000 in musical instruments and equipment in area schools. The cost of every object needed may vary, but making a difference in a child's life will always be priceless to us. When our children receive positive support and encouragement to be musically artistic, we are doing our job in the community.Thank you to all who have sponsored the MAMAs and helped put instruments in our children's hands over the years.
