It all started with a conversation between 2 old school friends, Dennis, a mixologist and James, a Chinese medicine practitioner: popular western liquors, like Gin and Jägermeister, are extracted from herbs, and some were previously medicinal liquors.The Chinese medicinal liquors, which focus on functions, are usually hard to swallow. Yet, oriental herbs are in fact uniquely flavorful and aromatic. How would it be like if we use Chinese herbs in modern mixology? This thought has set the two into a quest of flavors. After a year of trial and error, the two oriental botanical-infused liquors come to life.Both Magnolia and Roselle capture the rich and complex flavors of oriental herbs and create liqueur that can be enjoyed on any occasion, either on their own or with mixers.Every sip is a journey.調酒師Dennis和當中醫師的舊同學James某天聊起,大部分西方酒如Gin都是以草本植物提煉,甚至一些更是舊時的藥酒,例如Jägerbomb裡面用到的Jägermeister。但中式藥酒以功能為主,飲落似苦茶,無法像西方酒般普及。其實中式草本不單有功效,更是充滿獨特香味和層次。如果以中式草本混合現代的調酒技術,會是甚麼味道? 從這個想法開展了Dennis和James的這趟味覺之旅。經過一年多的嘗試,他們研發出「五味雜陳」和「閉月羞花」兩支東方草本liqueur。它們味道豐富有層次,配合東方草本獨特的色香味,五味雜陳,仿如人生。
