As with most successful ventures, the roots of Manolo's Best Chili sprang from one man's desire to satisfy a common need. It is a need based on two universal truths, that: 1) people seek to feed themselves and their families healthy, nutritious, and delicious food; and 2) everyone loves chili. What resulted did not occur by chance, by luck, or as the result of some sudden "Eureka!" moment. It evolved slowly, deliberately and organically, over the course of several years.Our company founder, Mitch Wolinsky, an accomplished chili master in his own right, was interested in improving his personal health. So, as a committed chili aficionado, he set out to find for himself a locally made turkey or veggie chili that would measure up to his discriminating palate. What he found instead were mediocre concoctions containing average-quality ingredients. Their flavor profiles either lacked excitement or were so heat intensive that they not only burned Mitch's stomach, they made him ill. His best recourse, he decided, would be to create the chili himself.
