Public Policy - Chicago, Illinois, United States
Maple Grove Objective was founded in November 2012 by Kelly Sparks and David Sparks for the purpose of helping organizations use intelligence-based strategies to maximize their impact upon the communities they serve. Based in Chicago, Maple Grove Objective is a small, woman-owned business serving for- and non-profit organizations and governmental agencies at the local, state, and federal levels on projects which range from creating performance scorecards for departments throughout Chicago Public Schools to building a five-year strategic plan for the construction of a new daycare in New Haven, CT to directing the design of a website for the Charter School Collaboration Network of the U.S. Department of Education. Maple Grove Objective's primary goal is to help agencies better manage their information and organize their actions around that information. This approach primarily involves tying an organization's actions and goals to specific measures and desired outcomes, identifying where the relevant data exists or can be accessed, and using the resultant intelligence to direct further activities and bring about those outcomes. Throughout this process, MGO emphasizes targeting for collection only data that have been identified as useful and then connecting those data directly to the assessment of program effectiveness, identification of potential leverage points for policy, and direction of subsequent administrative actions.
