MAT studio is a research + design platform of architecture and urban planning. It is currently building up the next generation urban toolkit by comparing and combining the urban mechanisms of Japan and the Netherlands (supported by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie). The motive of MAT studio is to liberate the creativity of architecture, more importantly the end-user and private interest, from the urban regulation, but in a balanced manner. Eriko Watanabe, the founder of MAT studio, is also a partner of Elastik.
