Matakana Estate has been at the forefront of local Matakana winemaking since this premium, boutique wine region was first developed more than 30 years ago. Matakana Estate's philosophy has always been to capture the essence of New Zealand's finest grape varieties from the regions where they grow best. Our Matakana Estate Winery produces award-winning Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot Gris under the care of winemaker Richard Robson.The Matakana Coastal region is best known for its white-sand beaches and also perhaps the bustling Matakana Village Farmer's Market. It is a slice of heaven right on Auckland's doorstep.There is magic in the land and we are proud to be one of the wineries in the region to showcase the quality of wine produced in the area. When our new owners took over in 2012, they felt a sense of connection to the region and we want to emulate that spirit in everything we do. Whether it is a wine tasting of our wines at our cellar door, a stay at our luxury lodge or vineyard venue hire for your special event. Our purpose is to connect people to each other, themselves, and nature by providing access to unique, memorable experiences.
