Mazingira Safi Initiative (MSI) is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven community based organization that seeks to inspire communities to own the responsibility of keeping the environment clean through action and community participation in clean-ups events, and through education. The initiative began in August 2013 and has so far, in conjunction with the Nairobi County Government, managed to conduct at least one cleanup exercise every month within Nairobi. In addition, its campaigns it has brought together other CBOs, churches, women groups, youth groups, and corporate organizations in an effort to improve the state of the environment in Nairobi.Since its inception it has invested resources in an effective program that has stimulated youths and community members in Nairobi to a more responsible approach to environmental cleanliness and waste management and thus making significant impact in contributing to waste management in Nairobi.For more information, please visit our website.
