MedEquip4Kids improves the health of children and babies by providing equipment not available from limited NHS resources. We provide vital equipment for hospitals, schools, clinics and community groups. We believe every child should have access to the best medical care and support when they need it most.Since 1985, MedEquip4Kids has raised over £20 million to fund equipment and facilities to care for around 109,000 children each year across the North West and beyond. In 2014, MedEquip4Kids launched a new national project working with Childhood and Adolescent Mental Health teams (CAMHS) to supply resources and therapy items to help children with a range of conditions including autism, ADHD, eating disorders, depression and self harm. Their daughter's life was saved thanks to Booth Hall Children's Hospital and the parents were keen to show their gratitude to the Manchester hospital. As a result they established the Booth Hall Children's Hospital's Research and Development Trust (commonly known as the Bobby Bear Appeal) and began fundraising for a new Intensive Care Unit. The project was completed in record time and, instead of disbanding, the charity expanded to cover hospitals across Greater Manchester renamed as the Children's Hospitals Appeal Trust, or CHAT.In 2004, the charity expanded and re-branded to become MedEquip4Kids and now works with medical staff, play therapists, community nurses, teachers and other registered charities to provide equipment and improve the environment in hospitals, schools and clinics across the north of England and beyond.
