Founded by the Oslo (Norway) based organization, Abildso (www.abildso.org), the Middle East Program (MEP) was initiated in 2001. MEP was founded in order to develop future leaders in the Middle East through placing an emphasis on relationships and personal friendships between the members. MEP is focusing on individuals that posses potential for creating direction and purpose for a better present and future in the Middle East. Starting with about three members from each of Jordan, Palestinian Authority, Israel, and Norway, by now MEP can name dozens of people from each country, seeing themselves as part of MEP. In 2011 the Israeli members have established and registered a non profit organization (MEP-Israel) to cultivate leadership and cooperations in varied professional fields.
