Meraki Smile School, a non-profit organization registered in Spain and Madagascar, has opened its first school in Ambodiampanga Itaosy, a rural area marked by low life expectancy and low rates of school attendance in the south of Antananarivo, the capital of the African country.During the first academic year, 30 children, 15 boys and 15 girls aged from five to six years old, will attend classes in the premises rented and renewed by the NGO. At school, we follow an international curriculum where we incorporate two languages: English, and Malagasy, the national language in Madagascar. Additionally, they receive basic health care and a feeding program at the school.Meraki is an interested school in the process of applying for International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidacy.
