The MSc in Medical Informatics approaches the theoretical aspects of information sciences, specific to the understanding of the data, the information, the biomedical knowledge and for the application of information technologies in health care systems, aiming the increase of safety, effectiveness, efficiency, equity and the availability of healthcare services.The 2nd Cycle of Studies/MSc in Medical Informatics covers a variety of scientific and technical topics such as: electronic health records in the primary and tertiary healthcare; codification systems and classification of diagnoses and procedures, standards of ICT in the healthcare domain; signal and image processing; electronic communication among healthcare providers, decision support systems; implementation and evaluation of technologies and information systems.
