Todays future will be grown. The age of biology is now, our teams vision is to create a healthier and more reusable built environment inspired by natures design. By tapping into natures recycling system the mycelium network, we can transform waste and decay into highly innovative biomaterials. This will allow us to create a much more energy efficient, resource efficient and healthier built environment. Radical change is needed, to address the current climate crisis caused by the multi-faceted issues interwoven within waste management and the construction industry. Pioneering the field of bio-based materials in Australia, we are developing construction systems that are modular, reusable, circular and environmentally friendly. Existing petro-chemical based materials are bio-accumulative, which cease to break down naturally and have detrimental effects on the environment releasing harmful pollutants and compounds during manufacturing, installation, and at the end of its life use.In preliminary testing our biomaterials are proving to outperform the existing petrochemical products in thermal and acoustic conductivity as well as fire resistance whilst improving indoor air quality. Our compostable biomaterials are not only economically competitive, but safer for builders, homeowners and the planet.
