In Africa, Asia, America, Australia ... over 2 billion people eat nearly 1.400 species of insects every day. Moreover, as you know population growth leads to an increased need for animal proteins: this need is expected to double by 2050. Aware of the current food and environmental issues and with the desire to develop a new activity, the Micronutris team strongly believes that the future of food lies at our feet: in insect's production. The company has been created in 2011 to develop and to commercially exploit this idea. Nowadays, Micronutris is the first European company to have its own edible insects breeding unit dedicated to human consumption and in the most strict hygiene conditions. In concrete terms, Micronutris breeds mealworms (Tenebrio molitor larva) and crickets (Acheta domestica). These insects are endemic in the South of France area and they are healthy (lots of nutriments such as proteins, omega 3 and essential minerals) and eco-friendly (they need few water and few spaces for growing and they produce few greenhouse gases). Then, we develope innovative formulations to prepare food products including dried insects in their composition To become the European leader in this disruptive activity, we are constantly looking for new talented persons.
