We are a Non-profit organization founded by animal and environmental activists, located in the heart of Israel. Our mission is to promote the research and development in the field of clean and plant-based alternatives to meat, eggs and dairy. The big advantage of Israel as a startup nation is the concentration of many great minds and entrepreneurs with a population and area comparable in size to the San Francisco Bay Area. In this hotbed of innovation, science, and technology, we aspire to grow a major clean and plant-based protein hub. And we don't mind using some Israeli Huzpah along the way! Most current Israeli startups in the field are strongly connected to our work, among those is Supermeat.We accelerate awareness and innovation in the field by: - Raising capital and supporting relevant R&D - Promoting the foundation of new start ups in the field - Organizing clean and plant-based meat conferences in Israel - Lobbying for and promoting government support for research - Creating small intra-Israel gatherings on clean and plant-based meat - Raising awareness among the general public - Strengthening the cooperation between sectors - Building a branch in Europe in order to foster more cooperation - Ensuring lectures and courses are in the curricula in universitiesToday, the meat, dairy and egg industries are among the biggest contributors to deforestation and climate change; they consume huge amounts of valuable resources such as energy and fresh water; contribute to the outbreak of pandemics as swine flu, and are the cause of deaths of billions of animals every year. We believe that clean protein can be a solution for these major problems we face today. Our goal is to contribute the best way we can by leveraging the invaluable resources our small country has to offer- creating healthy, sustainable and humane food for the whole world.
