Modified k9 is a small, private organization with a main focus to create change through community outreach for our canines companions and their people. We have a variety of programs that aim to have a positive impact between you and your canine as well as for the community as a whole. Some of our Programs are as follows:-Canines for Service (coming soon)-Canine Good Citizens The Canine Good Citizen Program (CGC) is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. It is a two-part program (10-step test) that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs.-Compassion Hold It is a humane act that ensures the last days of a suffering or elder dog's life with safety, love & comfort.-K9 Kids 101 Teaching kids the "Do's & Don'ts" for dog safety.-K9 Rad Readers The goal of Modified k9's "K9 Rad Readers" program is to help improve the literacy of children through the assistance of our mentor dogs and to touch on the child's creative side with our art and illustration outreach. -Owner Support Creating a better future for dogs and their people.-Rise Above Mk9 Rise Above is a program that shares stories of mistreated, discriminated and rescued pit bull dogs with those currently struggling with similar situations. The mk9 Rise Above team reaches out through our pit bull dogs, art and personal experiences. Our program reaches out to people struggling with bullying, depression and suicide. Our program reaches out to pit bull dogs struggling with mistreatment, homelessness and rejection.Our program will join some of the most broken and focus on making them whole again-Shelter Dog While in our program, our volunteers are helping the shelter dogs get "home ready" by working on their leash manners, basic obedience, socialization skills and mind stimulation exercises
