Stephen Morton, aka Morty, aka Salt, is a director, writer, and 10-year veteran of the visual effects industry. As a digital compositor, 3d generalist, and matte painter, he has contributed to a number of high profile film, TV, and commercial projects. In a six-year stint at Cantina Creative, those projects included Need for Speed, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and The Hunger Games. While at Cantina he also served as Visual Effects Supervisor for the Iron Man Experience: Hong Kong Ride Film Pre-Shows and the Jon Avnet-directed Three Christs.From Cantina, Stephen moved on to new personal creative endeavors in film and music, all while making new connections in the commercial and TV world. This culminated in a dream gig working under the Duffer Brothers and Visual Effects Supervisor Paul Graff as an in-house compositor on Stranger Things 3. After completing this post he relocated to Nashville where he has continued to work in VFX, while also directing various music-related projects and writing some of his own tunes.Stephen studied architecture at the University of Florida, graduating in 2008. In the fall of that same year he booked his breakthrough gig as an editor and consultant for the highly-acclaimed architectural visualization house Vyonyx in London.Stephen hails from Forest Hill, Maryland. He currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
