Nonprofit Organization Management - Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa
The South African Government has set the country on a path of socio-economic growth, core to which is education. Yet many children from our poor communities lag behind their counterparts when it comes to literacy skills. Literacy and education are key aspects to any child's development, and it was for this reason that businessman Shadrack Mthethwa and his wife established the Mthethwa Family Development Foundation (MFDF) in 2008. The Foundation takes a holistic approach to community upliftment and sources and manages funding for projects which focus on children between the ages of nine and 13. The MFDF programmes concentrate on nurturing the body, mind and soul of each child, and are currently being implemented in nine schools across three provinces.Vision: To be recognised as a leading education and sport-orientated organisation focusing mainly on Spelling Bee, Read-a-thon, Symposium, Netball and Soccer. Mission: To provide an environment conducive to learning and the development of skills and talent through enjoyable educational and sport programmes.
