MFSG was established in 1976, and was for many years part of the Management Consulting Department of KPMG Peat Marwick CPAs or other national and regional accounting or engineering firms. MFSG was organized as a Maryland-based limited liability company in 1996, and became an independent women-owned firm during 2002. MFSG is composed of professional staff members with the appropriate functional and programmatic skills, whose services are focused on clients involved in capital-intense infrastructure and environmental activities, especially in the public sector and utilities.
