Food Production - Dundee, Oregon, United States
Owner of the Murto Vineyard, one of Oregon's "Grand Cru" vineyards. The site was first planted in 1978 by Jim McDaniel's with guidance from Dick Erath. With 40+ year old vines, it is one of the oldest vineyards in Oregon. It is planted to mostly own-rooted Pommard clone Pinot Noir and is dry-farmed. It sits high up in the Dundee Hills making it a cool site. We often harvest several weeks later than most Willamette Valley vineyards. It is known for sublime dark-fruited PN that deftly balances velvety texture and vibrancy. Top wineries have long coveted the fruit. Belle Pente, Winderlea, and White Rose all had long-standing Murto single vineyard designate programs. Today we only partner with two wineries, Antica Terra and Authentique. Their wines can be hard to get but are worth seeking out. The other blocks go into making wine for our, as of yet unlaunched, Woodshed Wine Co. project. We look forward to sharing them with our allocation list in 2023.If you you are interested in buying fruit, you can request to be added to the waitlist.
