Social Services - Norwood, OH, us
The National Down Syndrome Adoption Network is a national adoption program whose sole focus is to provide information, resources and support to expectant and new parents whose child has received a diagnosis of Down syndrome. We sit with the parents as they process through their grief; we educate them on Down syndrome; we counsel them about parenting a child with Down syndrome. If they decide to parent, we refer them to their local parent group. If they decide to make an adoption plan, we connect them with an agency who has experience with special needs adoption, who will provide them with birth parent counseling and adoption services. We also have a registry of families who are home study ready and who are approved to adopt a child with Down syndrome, and those families will be considered for adoption situations. The NDSAN is a program of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati. We charge no fees for our services.
