For over a century, NCJW/Cleveland has been a powerful force for social change across the country, around the globe – and right here in Cleveland. The oldest Jewish women's organization in North America, NCJW/Cleveland women steps forward when others retreat, speak out when others are silent, and champion the needs of women, children, and families.For 119 years, NCJW has been entrenched in the Cleveland Jewish Community. For example, NCJW was a founding member of the Jewish Community Federation, The Jewish Community Center, The Mt. Sinai Hospital, Council Gardens, and Bellflower Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.Over 3000 members and supporters contribute to the many local community service projects, as well as numerous social action initiatives. From school literacy programs to senior life-enrichment, from voter registration to our Play It Safe program, NCJW/Cleveland has been, and continues to be, at the leading edge of progressive social issues. NCJW/Cleveland volunteers can be found at the in the Cleveland Public Schools and throughout our community presenting programs of interest to a variety of women, children and families.
