NOLA Green Roots helps network local farm with fresh vegetables and fruits with local residents, restaurants and business owners. NOLA Green Roots is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that facilitates garden training for hundreds of participants. By developing community gardens, we teach youth, low-income residents, and senior citizens how to grow fresh fruits and vegetables at a low cost. Our community gardens provide access to fresh produce and plants as well as lessons on satisfying labor needs, improving neighborhoods, building a sense of community, and connecting to the environment. Produce grown by NOLA Green Roots do not contain modern synthetic inputs such as synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Our foods are produced using methods of organic farming.
