WHAT WE DOThe Norse Education Foundation makes grants and supports projects that promote educational excellence at North Muskegon Public Schools. Since 2012, NEF has helped fund mentoring and anti-bullying programs, bought high-tech classroom equipment, supported new learning and teaching techniques, and many other projects unable to be supported by the school's general fund.WHO WE AREThe Norse Education Foundation is sustained and advised by supporters of North Muskegon Public Schools. Our advisory board is made up of school staff, parents, alumni, and community members who raise funds and make spending decisions for the Foundation. Our board advises the Norse Education Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, established to enrich the educational experiences of students at North Muskegon Public Schools by funding excellence in teaching and learning beyond what is provided through operating funds. The Community Foundation manages and invests the fund's balance to earn the income we use to support our mission. Each year we spend approximately 5% of the fund balance, while investing the rest of the fund's income back into the fund to grow and support NMPS in perpetuity.
