Northern Home for Children has been providing a safe haven for children and a safety net for families facing extraordinary challenges since its founding in 1853. Northern Home for Children serves children and families from the greater Philadelphia area through the provision of social services, behavioral health and school-based programs. The mission of Northern Home for Children is to foster the development of self confidence, resiliency and other life skills in at-risk children, youth and their families through the provision of behavioral health, child welfare and preventive services.Accomplishments include:>Successfully implemented capital campaign that raised over $2 million and enabled the agency to build the first new building on its campus in over 75 years.>Served as the liaison to the Board of Trustees, providing support and transition for incoming officers and board members, as well as comprehensive board orientation;>Planned and implemented board retreat during which the current Strategic Plan was crafted.>Wrote White Paper summarizing a decade of capital needs, projects and fundraising for the purpose of providing clarity to the board and a startiing point for future projects.>Supported three different Executive Directors in their day to day activities, as well as provided the transition needed between each change in professional leadership.>Largely responsible for the branding of the agency and creating, together with graphic designers, the current look of the agency's website, print material and publications.
