Norwegian Marine & Energy Complex, NMEC, has the purpose of gathering industry and service companies through close strategic, operative and market-oriented cooperation. The companies that forms NMEC* offers world-class products and services for the maritime, oil and gas, fishery and aquaculture, navy and renewable energy and energy recovery sectors. NMEC is located in Bømlo, where industrial innovation has taken place for more than a century. There are ongoing work to strengthen the infrastructure and facilities in order to improve and expand business - both in the industrial center @Rubbestadneset, and the fishery and aquaculture center @Langevåg. @Rubbestadneset UNITECH Technology center, including location for vocational school, is under construction, and will be ready summer 2022. @Langevåg the local fishing industry has teamed up to develop Bømlo Fishery Harbour.
