ABOUT US.Novatas is a 501 (c) (3) U.S Non-Profit registered in the State of New York. We partner primarily with groups and authorities in poor communities to develop, promote and finance innovative programs aimed at increasing access to water, energy, clean environments and better livelihoods. Our main agenda is to promote sustainable development while mitigating against the progress and effects of climate change. Not only do we focus on innovation and social enterprise to fight poverty in disadvantaged communities, we also recognize that aiding small businesses and increasing access to affordable micro-finance is core to building sustainable societies through genuine economic development.OUR MISSION.We partner with qualified groups and individuals in disadvantaged communities and work with them to alleviate poverty by supporting innovation and new skills development through requisite financial, technical and strategic support. We see innovation, financial inclusion, knowledge and skills development as vital components in achieving sustainable development. We also believe these are vital components while eliminating the effects and progress of climate change. That is why we increase our impact by identifying and supporting innovative local-based social entrepreneurship ventures with strong environmental components and providing all the financial and strategic support necessary for their success. This way, we intend to reduce poverty while anchoring sustainable change in poor communities.WHERE WE WORK.Novatas is expanding its programs into East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania), South Asia (Nepal, India and Sri Lanka), Southern Africa (Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique) and West Africa (Nigeria, Cameroon and Ghana.OUR APPROACH.In our work with local partners, we encourage innovation and sustainable technologies as tools to reduce poverty. We share information at all levels, from people at the very grassroots to our global supporters and we include all members of the community in our program reviews. With this level of cooperation, we believe that we can turn ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economics and human well-being with realistic goals and targets. We have modelled our programs around the U.N's Sustainable Development Goals. As Part of the Agenda 2030 goals, we recognize that genuine sustainable change takes decades and requires solutions which will transform lives for generations to come. This includes attaining social and economic sustainability, as well as meeting environmental challenges. We therefore do not think small. Once tested, we work with partners to adopt and expand our ideas globally.WHAT WE DO
