Mission Statement:The Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association (OCHMRA) is an advocate of the Ocean City Hospitality Industry, and is a Tourism activist. A private, non-profit organization, OCHMRA is dedicated to building Ocean City's economy and positive image through tourism and destination marketing to the leisure market. Organizational/Functional Statement:The OCHMRA consists of Active, Associate and Allied members. Active members are hotels/motels with more than 25 units and restaurants with more than 50 seats. Associate members are hotels/motels/apartments with between 10-25 units and restaurants with less than 50 seats. Active and Associate members must be located on the island, and in West Ocean City on Rt. 611 up to Snug Harbor Rd. and as far west as Herring Creek. Allied members are businesses which sell/service our industry - they have no geographical boundaries.An Executive Director who reports monthly to a Board of Directors runs day-to-day operations. The Board of Directors is made up of 9 members, a Secretary-Treasurer, a 2nd Vice President, a 1st Vice President, a President, and the Immediate Past President. In addition, Past Presidents are welcome to attend Board meetings and typically do so. The OCHMRA is a 501(c)6 and is funded by membership dues, co-op promotional calendar of event brochures, website banner advertising and an annual Trade Expo.
