Orphan Shade was co-founded by Jay Schierloh and Pastor Prince Kampomo in 2016. Our mission is to care for double orphans (both parents have passed away) in Malawi Africa using a very unique model. The key components of the model make this a sustainable ministry are:Orphan Shade is a family home. It is not a residential institution. Each individual home will have a Christian couple as house parents that will raise the children to age 18.Orphan Shade is local. A family home is built in the child's village. Therefore, the children continue to live in their home tribal village with their extended family, community and the local culture.Orphan Shade is a ministry of the local church in the village. The children will thrive as the local church leadership and members take ownership and focus of serving the children in their own community.
