PASS, Incorporated is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting athletics, scholarship, and sisterhood to female youth through teamwork, education, and mentoring. PASS, Inc. was founded in 2012 to address issues relevant to female youth in Baltimore City between the ages of 9 and 18, and to provide safe extracurricular and after-school alternatives. PASS, Inc. seeks to foster self-esteem, discipline, respect, good sportsmanship, and integrity in their participants so they may be mature into responsible, educated young women. PASS achieves its goals by providing mentoring workshops and athletics to its participants. The mentoring workshops provide the participants with a positive outlet and an open forum to discuss relevant topics. The interactive activities and lessons provide the participants with opportunities for self-reflection and personal growth. The mentoring workshops include time management, study skills, healthy living, self-esteem, make-up and apparel, and healthy relationships. In addition to mentoring workshops, our high school students have participated in college tours and fairs. Some of the colleges visited are Frostburg University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, University of the Sciences of Philadelphia, and Delaware State. The purpose is to expose the participants to college and make them aware of the opportunities available. The athletic program provides after-school alternatives to the youth to prevent them from engaging in potentially risky behavior. The participants are introduced to and taught the fundamentals of the sports, then divided into age appropriate groups for competitive play. PASS, Incorporated currently offers softball and lacrosse.
