The hardest problems are those that require people to change how they think and feel, to stretch their emotional intelligence, or to push the limits of their capability. One-size-fits-all training and development doesn't equip people to solve these kind of problems. But twenty-five years of experience has shown that coaching can. Whether it's imping relationship-management skills, developing and nurturing leadership capacity, or supporting executives as they shape their organisations, coaching creates powerful, personal, lasting change. Coaching means hard work. It's not just about a 'can-do' attitude. It's not just therapy for stressed executives. It's a serious commitment that's grounded in the commercial reality of how organisations work. Peter Thomas (BA PhD CEng FIET FBCS) has coached individuals and teams at all levels in private and public sector organisations. He specialises in stretching individuals' emotional intelligence and building personal development agendas. Peter is director of the Manifesto Group of companies, which operate in the UK, US and Australia. He was previously CTO of the e-commerce arm of a FTSE 250 company, and has developed multi-million dollar research institutes. He has developed many government-funded research projects, collaborating with partners in countries including India and Japan. Peter's clients include The Financial Times, Sensis, MYOB, iPac, HP, BT, Serco and AXA. Peter has a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and a PhD in Human Factors. He is a visiting Fellow at Melbourne University and Visiting Professor at Brunel University, London.
