Pets for Vets-Chicagoland is a local chapter of the Pets for Vets national organization covering eight counties surrounding Chicago. Our organization is dedicated to providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training, and matching them with America's veterans who could benefit from having a companion animal. Many of these veterans suffer from PTSD, TBI, anxiety, and/or depression and are not eligible for a service dog. Pets for Vets Chicagoland can help. Medical studies have shown that companion animals significantly improve mental and physical health, including reducing stress, depression and anxiety, symptoms experienced by many serving in the military. There are several ways other can help. We are looking for the following partnerships in each of our eight counties including Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will County: Corporate SponsorsTrainersFoster HomesVeterinariansGroomersFundraisers such as 5K runs, concerts, etc.Donations of either cash or itemsIn order to not create an additional burden on our veterans, with each veteran-dog match, we provide all of the necessary equipment for them to start their new life together.
