Physics and Mathematics Lyceum № 30, St.-Petersburg, Russia is one of the oldest school with phys-math specialization in Russia. The history of Physics and Mathematics Liceum № 30 dates back to the 6 of October 1897 when it was opened as a model for all city schools in Saint Petersburg. Lyceum was one of the first to start working according to special oriented curriculum in 1961 with physics and mathematics. The leading scientists of St.-Petersburg concerned about the problem of training the future generation of scientists, took an active part in organization of the new curriculum. The Lyceum provides excellent conditions for advanced fundamental physics and mathematics the education of gifted children. Lyceum teachers, together with the teachers of the St.-Petersburg University have developed unique mathematics and physics programs, prepared adapted courses on very complicated areas of physics and mathematics, created a system of olympiads, various competitions, as well as optional courses for students. Lyceum teachers have published the textbooks and manuals and they have also been invited as experts to test new text books and manuals written by other teachers of the city. Our lyceum has a unique laboratory of computer physics and optics, computer graphics laboratory, organize summer scientific camps on computer science, mathematics and physics. Lyceum student are regular winners of numerous international, all-Russia and SPb olympiads in math, physics, programming, etc.
