Platypus sells a water analytics service, Aquatical Analytics™, that utilizes cooperative robotic boats to acquire data about inland bodies of water. The Aquatical offering comprises two components-Aquatical Analytics Platform™ andAquatical Robotic Boats™ used to perform data collectionMost every aspect of our lives is now data-driven, and we believe that it's time that the water that we cook with, bath in and drink every day should be as well understood as everything that we interact with on a daily basis.We have performed data collects and water analysis on every continent except Antarctica. During our work with a diverse set of customers, in multiple countries, we've analyzed water in a variety of settings:Retention pondsDrilling pad environmentsRecreation and fishing areasAgriculture - fish farms, pig farmsHousing estates built around lakes… In rivers, lakes and pondsOver the next 3 years, Platypus will collect and analyze nearly 800,000 acres of inland waterways - and that's called a great start! But it's just a start.Platypus was spun out of Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute in 2012.
