Presidential Climate Commission Details
The objective of the Commission is to advice on South Africa's climate change response to ensure realisation of the vision for effective climate change response and the long-term just transition to a climate resilient and low carbon economy and society.The Commission will provide independent expert advice to Government on the mitigation of climate change impacts (including through reducing emissions of greenhouse gases) and adapting to the effects of climate change; and provide independent monitoring and review of progress towards government's emissions reduction and adaptation goals.
