'Project Kamakhya' aims to replace the existing menstrual products with a new solution which is not only much more hygienic and convenient for women but also does not have any negative repercussions on the environment. Moreover, the project also revolves around contributing towards UN's Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production by tackling the massive problem of plastic pollution caused by the production and consumption of reusable sanitary products. Furthermore, it also aims to empower women through sensitization and economical resources to encourage them to manufacture their own pads and earn dignity and pride for themselves.The project aims at making menstruation a sustainable process by reducing tonnes of menstrual waste and by ensuring that women who are still deprived from a safe period can afford a pad.
