Project START (Students, Teachers, and Researchers Teach) Science! sparks and keep aflame the excitement of public school children for science/STEM. The program entails groups of about 8 university students leading hands-on science modules for a class of elementary school students. The hands-on activities are conducted with one "START Leader" at each table of 3-4 students, allowing for more individualized attention. We have multiple classes running in parallel instead of just one class. The modules are all in STEM related fields, including Biology, Physics, Engineering, Health, Neuroscience and Chemistry. The kids conduct electroplating experiments, bacterial growth cultures, cyanoacrylate fingerprint development, and many other activities, learning the science behind these exciting hands-on projects. The full description of many of the individual modules can be seen on our website: www.startscience.org
