Promises for Parkinson's is dedicated to bringing hope to Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. We support scientific research that aims for a cure and a better way of life for those living with the disease, and we actively carry out various public events to incite others to help make a difference.\\In September of 2010, Promises for Parkinson's held the first annual Hike the Park for Parkinson's at Oregon Ridge in Hunt Valley Maryland. The Hike was a fantastic success thanks to all the participants and volunteers. Because of our fundraising efforts, we were able to present a check to Maryland's Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Center, a leader in Parkinson's research, for $15,000. These funds will be used for research into the genetics of Parkinson's disease. \\On September 10, 2011 from 8 am-12 noon, the second annual Hike the Park for Parkinson's will be held at Oregon Ridge Park.
