Problem: Prescription Drug Abuse is an epidemic The nation's fastest growing drug problem in our country: • For the first time in history, there are more deaths due to prescription drug abuse than motor vehicle accidents. • Prescription depressants, opioids and antidepressants cause more overdose deaths (45%) than cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and amphetamines (39%) combined. • The economic burden is over $600 billion per year, and is increasing. • Professional organizations, federal, state and local government are responding with new guidelines, rules and regulations. There are eleven new bills proposed in the Ohio Legislature alone addressing the problem. The Solution: Healthcare professionals created PRxPro because they faced Prescription Drug Abuse in their clinical practices. These unique qualifications significantly enhanced their understanding of all facets of the epidemic, especially in light of the inadequate professional education physicians receive. PRxPro leverages proprietary software to provide services on an outsourced basis for prescribers, eliminating the burden on their resources, protecting their practices and elevating patient care. PRxPro Software Solution manages the following activities: • Physicians complete an online referral form • PRxPro's Patient Care Coordinators (PCC) contact the patient for enrollment. • PRxPro screens patients at enrollment, and monthly thereafter, either face to face or electronically. • The software generates automated calls for random drug screens and random pill counts, alerts PCCs when reports are due, records and stores data, and generates customizable reports. • PRxPro implements provider specific protocols. • Counselors provide intervention based on protocols. PCCs send prescribers Monthly Monitoring Reports • Third party payers reimburse for services, so there is no cost to physicians, and no additional cost to the patients.
